Gift Wrap - Paper Leaves

Whether as a finishing touch to a gift, or as a decoration to a scrapbook page, these paper leaves are multi-purpose and so easy to make.

leaf template While you can do this with leaves that you have collected and dried yourself, they can sometimes be quite delecate and fall apart easily. These paper leaves are a bit more durable, and the perfect addition to any card or gift.

To start, simply cut the leaf out of brown paper. One template is displayed to the side (or can be downloaded here), or we also have two other templates here and here for you to use. If you're feeling adventurous, you can always create your own leaf template as well.

Paint the cut-out paper leaves with metallic paint - either as a solid coat, or by just using random strokes and letting the brown paper be seen through. Once that has dried, paint the paper leaves with a different colour of metallic paint.

Streak the paper leaves with glitter, using either glittler glue after the second colour of paint has dried, or with regular non-glue glittler that you can dust over the wet paint.

Those three simple steps are the basic steps on how to make your own decorative paper leaves. Bottom line, though is that you should experiment with different shapes, paint and glittler colours.
