Gift Wrap - Creating Your Own Unique Gift Wrap
Weddings can be some of the most exciting times. You're participating in a couple starting the next phase of their life, and it's always a lot of fun to celebrate it. Homemade wedding gift wrap can be quite easy to make, and adds a certain personal touch to the gift you're giving the lucky bride and groom.
To create something stylish and sophisticated, try piercing paper - this is something that is not found in most stores and is quite eye catching. It's best to make your own wedding gift wrap on a white or silver medium weight paper.
To create your own pierced wedding gift wrap, you can use one of the templates provided here (downloadable here and here), or you can create your own template! Remember, keep the design fairly simple - it will keep the wedding gift wrap looking clean, sophisticated, and it will be less work for you. When piercing the paper, don't do it on a surface that might be damaged - use a piece of cardboard or other well-padded surface to protect the table you are working at.
To make wedding gift wrap, cut the paper to the size you will need to wrap the gift. On the wrong side of the paper, draw a grid. This grid will be the basis of the pattern on the wedding gift wrap.
Using a needle, or a push-pin, punch holes about 1/8" apart along the grid lines. In each of the squares between the grids (or in every other square), punch out the holes in the heart template you are using.
Those three simple steps are the basic steps on how to make your own wedding gift wrap. Once you have mastered these three steps, you can always expand on these three steps and make as elaborate wedding gift wrap as you could desire! As well, if you are feeling really creative, you can also make your own wedding gift card or tag - just keep in mind that it should be on a thicker weight paper.
